FLNG education opportunities

Florida Guard Family,

There has never been an easier time for you to pursue a degree or professional certification.

Many of you are eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill. Some of you are able to take advantage of Army or Air Force Tuition Assistance (TA) programs. All Florida Guardsmen are eligible for Educational Dollars for Duty (EDD) that will fund up to a Masters degree and most professional certification programs…including books!

A number of Florida educational institutions offer great programs for those who serve the public. A few that have been brought to our attention:

– Argosy University provides scholarship opportunities to National Guard members interested in pursuing a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership. Guardsmen interested in this graduate degree are eligible for the Military Tuition Assistance Rate of $250 per semester credit hour. Find out more information at http://argosy.edu/tampa.

– Florida State University Askew School of Public Administration and Policy offers several graduate programs, including Emergency Management and Homeland Security and Public Administration that will enable those looking to continue a career in public service. A starting point to learn more can be found at this link http://askew.fsu.edu/prospective/mpa/emergency.html.

– Flagler College provides a unique opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration with evening classes at an exceptionally affordable cost. This program accepts working professionals from the public, private or non-profit sectors who have their A.A. or A.S. degree or who have 60 transferable college credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university. All members of the National Guard, your family and friends are eligible. For information on the PAD program and curriculum details contact Dr. Saviak, 904-819-6234, www.flagler.edu/pad.

With the Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG) program which is available to Florida residents, EDD funding, and Tuition Assistance, all National Guardsmen in good standing can obtain a degree with little to no out of pocket expense.

Please contact our Florida National Guard Education Office at (904) 827-8595, for more information. Or go to their website at http://dma.myflorida.com/floridas-tuition-assistance-program/.

Thank you for your service.
