T. Dawn Williams is a State of Florida employee with the Florida Department of Military Affairs (DMA), serving as Assistant Purchasing Director at the Florida National Guard Joint Force Headquarters in Saint Augustine. She was nominated for the Governor’s Spotlight recognition program.
According to her supervisor, Ms. Williams consistently and exceptionally performed her duties in a manner worth emulating. She continues to perform at an exceptional level. Her excellent customer service skills, especially when handling difficult situations from internal and external customers on purchasing and contracting issues, are indicative of her many strengths, as commented by her peers and senior leaders alike.
Dawn’s exceptional administrative and organizational skills, especially during the section’s staffing shortages during the heaviest purchasing processing of the year, allowed her to complete her tasks, and the tasks of the two staff vacancies without much fanfare. She worked long, arduous hours, many times without recognition, but still managed to accomplish her tasks exceptionally.
“I have served the State of Florida more than 27 years, with 23 of those years serving as a member of the Florida Department of Military Affairs, adds Williams. I love working in the Purchasing Office and being able to serve and support military and civilian members within the agency. The work at times can be very demanding and challenging, but it is also rewarding at the same time.”
Dawn readily admits being the wife of a retired Florida National Guard Command Sgt. Maj. challenged her to be the best she can be, helping her to understand and appreciate the military organization she proudly serves.
Dawn is a great asset, not only to the Purchasing office but to the entire Department of Military Affairs, providing exceptional service with dedication and loyalty expected by the citizens of the State of Florida, the Florida National Guard and the Department of Military Affairs.
