This was a great week for Florida families, as we announced new jobs in Daytona Beach and Kissimmee. Teledyne Oil and Gas, a global provider of high technology products and services, opened their new Technology Development Center in Daytona Beach. This new facility will bring 100 new jobs to Florida, in addition to their existing 400 employees in Florida.  We also welcomed Photon-X, an imaging technology company, to Kissimmee. Photon-X relocated their international headquarters from Alabama to Florida, creating 110 new jobs for Florida families. With nearly 370,000 jobs created in just two and a half years, we know it’s working in Florida.

Florida state employees are working hard for Florida families.

I enjoyed helping to present the CAMACOL Hispanic Business Leadership Award  to Enterprise Florida Senior Vice President Manny Mencia for his outstanding work in Florida’s international business development. Mr. Mencia’s entrepreneurial spirit and talent has helped make Florida the gateway to Latin America.

I would like to congratulate Carlos Gabino for being named as the 2013 Veterans’ Claims Examiner of the Year by the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs.  Carlos received this honor for his dedication to going above and beyond to assist our Florida veterans and their families.

I also want to thank Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agent Jim Born for being recognized by the 15th Judicial Circuit Assistant State Attorney, Andrea Robinson, for his meticulous work.

Thank you for all your great work for Florida families and have a great weekend.
