This week we announced a huge victory for families on the Space Coast. Northrop Grumman could create up to 1,800 jobs through a major expansion in Brevard County. The new jobs are in addition to recent announcements for a Manned Aircraft Design Center of Excellence in Melbourne and an Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence in St. Augustine, and will stem from an additional expansion at the company’s campus in Melbourne.
Thanks to our work and dedication to cutting taxes and paying down debt, companies like Northrop Grumman are bringing jobs and opportunities to Floridians across our state. We look forward to welcoming more and more businesses to the Sunshine State, and to growing our opportunity economy so that more Florida families can succeed.
Florida state employees are working hard for Florida families.
I would like to congratulate Renay Rouse, of the Florida Department of Health, for being awarded Communicator of the Year for Crisis Communication by the Florida Public Relations Association. Renay was recognized for her outstanding public relations efforts in informing Florida families about health issues in their communities.
I would also like to applaud Kathryn Smithson of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection receiving the with the Division’s 2013 Joe Kenner Interpreter of the Year award, which is the state’s highest honor for interpretive programming. Kathryn was honored for her work to provide park visitors with nature-based educational and recreational opportunities.
