ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2015) — To celebrate Military Saves Week, the Florida National Family Programs Office is providing Personal Financial Counselors (PFC) for Florida Guardsmen to utilize their no-cost services during the month of February.
Military Saves Week is Feb. 23-28, 2015.
PFC’s are located at Family Assistance Center on Camp Blanding Joint Force Training Center, Feb. 24-27. The point of contact for this opportunity is Lori Culberson, (904) 814-4489, Lori.firstname.lastname@example.org. Service Members and their families are encouraged to call the POC for appointments. Walk-ins are accepted on a first come first served basis. Please bring your military ID.
PFCs are there to discuss financial matters one on one with clients. The PFC provides sound counsel, education, and coaching services with regard to many different tax and financial topics. Services are provided to active duty military members, guard/reserve members, and their families – all at no cost and completely confidential.
The following topics can be covered by the Certified Financial Counselor: Budgeting; Credit Management; Security Clearances; Repairing Credit and Debt Management.
PFC’s can pull credit reports for no charge and review the contents with Soldiers and families. PFC’s can talk about investing wisely, preparing for retirement, and saving to purchase a home. All meetings are not necessarily to discuss the negative side of money such as how to get out of debt, but also focus on the positive side like making your money make money for you.
If you have any questions please feel free to call Florida National Guard Family Programs Director Capt. Amy Green at (904) 823-0360.
